What makes our tallow special:
We only use the premium kidney fat called suet, and is sourced from our award-winning certified organic farm in Wisconsin. Each small batch is dry rendered using a low heat method that maintains the integrity of all the nutrients that make grass fed tallow special. It's then double strained and reheated to a time and temperature just hot enough to kill any bacteria.
We practice regenerative managed grazing which honors our land, soil, animals, and people. Our cattle's diet is fresh pasture from May to October, and stored hay in the winter. Our farm has been USDA certified organic for over 20 years.
Because our tallow is 100% grass-fed using low heat rendering, it has a faint aroma of grass and sunshine, and does not have a strong beefy smell. We do not add any chemicals or deodorizers.
Uses:
Our farming practices and rendering methods make this the best tallow you can buy for skincare, balms, lotion, soap, candles, and other crafts. Our current production is done in a non-commercial kitchen and not licensed for consumption.
Shelf life:
Where you store it makes a big difference. A cool, dark, dry place is good. The fridge is better. The freezer is best. Plan to use your tallow one year from the render date. As long as it smells and looks good, it can be used past then.
